The roundtable ‘Community Governance or Governing Communities’ co-organised by Peking University-The Hong Kong Polytechnic University China Social Work Research Centre, China and Global Development Network, Department of Applied Social Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Paul Boerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem was successfully held online on 3rd and 6th January 2022.
The roundtable aimed to discuss and theorise the burgeoning forms of community governance, co-creation and collectivist forms of governance. Prof. KHOURY-KASSABRI Mona, Vice President (Strategy and Diversity), The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Prof. YOUNG Ben, Vice President (Student and International Affairs), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. BEN-ARIEH Asher, Dean of School of Social Work and Social Welfare, Prof. Liu Neng, Associate Head of Department of Sociology, Peking University, and Dr. KU Hok-bun, Director of China and Global Development Network, Department of Applied Social Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University gave opening speeches for the conference. More than 20 scholars from the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, and Israel had made speeches in the conference. Meanwhile, more than 70 participants attended the roundtable conference and engaged in the discussion.
