The Department of Applied Social Sciences (APSS) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) welcomed a delegation from Huangshi City, Hubei Province, on 6 January, 2025. The delegation was received by Prof. WU Qiaobing, Associate Head of APSS; Dr Kan Yip, Assistant Director (Partnership and Development) of the China and Global Development Network, APSS; and Dr Yam Kong, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Work. This visit aimed to foster exchange ideas on social work training between Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland.
Visitors Include:
• Wang Hongfeng - Deputy Director-General of Huangshi Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China Society Work Department
• Ke Helin - Level II Division Rank Official of Central Propaganda Department, Huangshi City, Hubei Province and Vice Chairman of the Huangshi Municipal Social Science Federation
• Ni Huan - Level IV Principal Staff Member, Huangshi Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China Society Work Department
• Wan Yanhua - Section Member, Huangshi City Comprehensive Transportation Law Enforcement Team, Deputy Leader of the City Creation Guidance Group

The primary goal of thisvisit was to engage with the faculty members of APSS and understand the differences in social work training between Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. The visit underscores APSS PolyU's commitment to improving social work standards and methodologies, promoting a shared vision for community development and support.
