The Global Youth Leadership and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Italy Study Tour, was held from 12 to 23 June 2025, led by Professor KU Hok Bun, Director of CGDN and Dr YIP Sui Kan, Assistant Director (Partnership and Development) of CGDN, bringing a total of four faculty members and 19 students from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Peking University (PKU) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU). This tour was designed to deepen participants’ understanding of the SDGs set forth by the United Nations, inspire, and mobilise young individuals to contribute to global sustainability efforts.
The 10-day study tour to Florence and Rome provided a platform for learning and exchanging. The participants visited hospital, social service centres and universities, fostering meaningful exchanges of ideas and best practices particularly about the integration of medical sector and social services. These activities enriched students’ knowledge of the SDGs and facilitated the development of cross-institutional and cross-cultural partnerships. The study tour culminated in the formation of a network of students and professionals dedicated to advancing sustainable development. Students also put up innovative ideas aligned with the SDGs, setting the stage for more significant contributions in the future.
