The 14th Lam Woo Distinguished Social Work Awards Ceremony cum Peking University–The University of Chicago–The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Tripartite Forum took place on 28 and 29 March 2026. The event was jointly hosted by the Department of Sociology of Peking University (PKU), the Department of Applied Social Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), The University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, and the PKU-PolyU China Social Work Research Centre.

The event started with the Lam Woo Distinguished Social Work Awards Presentation, aim to recognise outstanding contributions in social work education, service management, and practice, elevating professional standards and advancing social work across the Chinese Mainland.

The Lam Woo Distinguished Social Work Social Service Project Awards were presented to the projects providing services in the judicial protection of minors in sexual assault cases, petitioning social work, comprehensive services for new employment groups, and hospice care. The Lam Woo Distinguished Social Work Scholar Award was conferred upon Professor HE Xuesong, Dean of the School of Social and Public Administration at East China University of Science and Technology. Furthermore, five students (CHEN Ziao, HU Lina, LI Qiaodun, JIANG Zhuoting, and MA Wentao) received the Lam Woo Distinguished Social Work Student Awards for their outstanding practice and their contributions to advancing social work research and application.

The ceremony was attended by nearly 100 representatives from the academic and professional social work communities. The event celebrated the exceptional impact of this year’s awardees in advancing social work education and practice in the Chinese Mainland.
