In the context of the government's active promotion of “the construction of beautiful village” and “rural revitalization”, a group of social work teachers, architects and local practitioners joined hand-in-hand with local villagers to explore an alternative path to rural revitalization. They integrate the concepts of participatory community development and co-creation design to construct a space that inherits the "soul" of rural culture and preserves the "roots" of rural community. This practice also demonstrates what rural and green social work is in the Chinese context.
